Before LuxuryGifts, our founder Navpreet Singh (Navi) spent 12+ years working with digital imaging, design, and photo artistry — restoring treasured family heirlooms and creating deeply meaningful visual art. He had always appreciated thoughtful, meaningful gifts that carried emotional depth.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, and everything changed.

Navpreet’s father was running his business in another city when strict lockdown measures went into effect. Soon after, devastating news arrived: his father had contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized. With all travel suspended, the family could not be by his side. A few days later, a phone call from the hospital confirmed their deepest heartbreak — his father was gone.

The Pain of Not Saying Goodbye

Without that final goodbye, all Navpreet had left were a few photos stored on his phone. Months later, as the family continued grieving, he looked through those pictures and one profound question emerged:

For two uninterrupted days, he poured his design expertise into the portrait — painstakingly balancing directional lighting, realistic shadows, facial warmth, and natural perspective. When he showed the finished portrait to his mother and brother, tears of joy filled the room.

Word quickly spread. Friends began asking for memorial portraits. Soon, messages poured in from families across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and worldwide asking to add late parents, restore ancestral heirlooms, and bring separated family members into one frame. In 2025, Navpreet purchased LuxuryGifts and left his corporate career to dedicate his life to emotional memory restoration.
